The Andrews Labor Government has confirmed the first successful recipient of its $20 million New Energy Jobs Fund grants.
Minister for Energy, Environment and Climate Change Lily D’Ambrosio has announced that the South East Councils Climate Change Alliance will receive $330,000 in funding to support its work in providing energy efficient housing in Victoria.
The Alliance empowers Victorian homeowners to work with their builder to construct homes which maximise heating and cooling, while reducing overall energy use.
This is the first of 24 grants which will be announced in the coming months, with the Alliance obtaining support funding in the Community – Advisory Services category.
The Labor Government received a strong response to the $20 million New Energy Jobs Fund with applicants providing innovative ideas for projects that support a clean energy future and help position Victoria as a leader in new energy technologies.
The fund is a key component of our $200 million Future Industries Fund to support high growth, high value industries, such as the new energy technologies sector that are critical to securing Victoria’s future as a competitive, innovative and outward looking economy.

“The South Eastern Councils Climate Change Alliance project provides expert advice on how to take advantage of new energy opportunities which could result in a potential reduction of up to 60% of household energy use. We’re proud to be rebuilding much needed confidence in the renewable energy industry following the neglect of Liberal governments at both state and federal levels over recent years. I look forward to working with all the successful applicants, we are determined to grow clean energy jobs and business opportunities.”
